TEAM TRYOUT DETAILS & REQUIREMENTS

Overview and Questions Answered!

FORMS DUE

  1. Complete FamilyID Registration - open April 24-May 15

  2. Complete Tryout Application

  3. Send and ensure completion of two teacher recommendations

  4. Review KSD Athletic Handbook & Chatelaine Contract

  5. Review and acknowledge Booster Club Agreement

  6. Ensure valid sports physical is complete by May 9th, 2023

  7. Print headshot (at least 4x6)

  8. Join Team Tryout Band for all details and information

TRYOUT SCORES

  • Teacher Evaluations: 2 @ 25 points = 50 points

  • Coaches' Score: (Professionalism, Effort, Attitude, Punctuality) 2 @ 100 points = 200 points

  • Kick/Pom Combo: 3 @ 50 points = 150 points

  • Jazz Combo: 3 @ 50 points = 150 points
    Total: 550 points

All routines will be evaluated on:

  • Memory

  • Showmanship

  • Technique

  • Execution

  • Style

  • Overall Impression

We do not have a set team member number we are hoping to fulfill. Members will be chosen based on where the break in scores lies.

HELPFUL TIPS

  • Participate in tryout Band as much as possible

  • Be on time; turn things in on time!

  • Communicate often

  • Go full out - always!

  • Smile, have fun, and keep a positive attitude

  • Give your best effort in all you do!

What to wear:

  • Come performance ready every day: appropriate dance attire, hair (pulled back completely out of your face), and makeup. 

  • Dance shoes and/or sneakers

  • NO jewelry
